Vaccination in Ho Chi Minh City: Prices, Hours, Rabies Shots

After an animal bite, wash the wound with water and soap for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Rabies vaccine costs VND 538,000 intramuscular or 438,000 intradermal for Verorab at VNVC, and VND 510,000 at Long Chau. VNVC Hai Ba Trung opens 7:30-17:00 on weekdays and 7:00-17:00 at weekends.

After an animal bite or scratch, wash the wound with water and soap for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Then go to a clinic the same day. Below: what the clinic will do, where to go, and the VNVC and Long Chau price lists.

If an animal bites or scratches you

Post-exposure care has three parts:

• Wound washing with water and soap for at least 15 minutes soon after the exposure.
• A course of rabies vaccine.
• Rabies immunoglobulin (ready-made antibodies) or monoclonal antibodies into the wound, if indicated.

The bite category decides what comes next. Category II is nibbling of uncovered skin or minor scratches without bleeding: wound washing and immediate vaccination. Category III covers transdermal bites or scratches, saliva on broken skin and direct contact with bats: wound washing, immediate vaccination and rabies immunoglobulin or monoclonal antibodies.

A shot before a trip does not remove the need for care after a bite. Pre-exposure vaccination does not replace post-exposure care, and anyone exposed to a suspected rabid animal still needs it.

What the clinic will do, and where to go

The usual Verorab course is 5 intramuscular shots on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28. The intradermal route, which VNVC prices lower, uses two small injections on days 0, 3 and 7, then one on day 28 and day 90. Count day 0 from your first shot.

A Category III bite also needs rabies immunoglobulin. Neither VNVC nor Long Chau prices it. Go to the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City: in July 2026 it had rabies vaccine and serum in stock and ran through lunch, Saturday and Sunday. Hours are Pasteur’s; the fee is quoted at the counter.

Vaccine prices compared

VNVC’s list applies from 26 September 2026; Long Chau’s is dated 14/08/2026. Prices are VND per dose. Intramuscular means into the muscle; intradermal means a small dose into the skin.

Only VNVC has tetanus TT at VND 189,000, Adacel at 798,000 and Boostrix at 856,000, and yellow fever Stamaril at 650,000, marked with an asterisk.

VNVC — the chain-wide list and its city centres

The VNVC price list applies across the entire VNVC system from 26 September 2026 until further notice. Prices include pre-vaccination screening with a doctor, consultation and medical documentation. Hotline 028 7102 6595. Hours depend on the centre and the day: weekdays 7:30-17:00, weekends 7:00-17:00 at the three below, with no lunch break.

Central centres:

• VNVC Hai Ba Trung: 290 Hai Ba Trung, Tan Dinh Ward; Monday to Friday 7:30-17:00, Saturday and Sunday 7:00-17:00.
• VNVC Ba Thang Hai: 232 3 Thang 2, Hoa Hung Ward; Monday to Friday 7:30-17:00, Saturday and Sunday 7:00-17:00.
• VNVC Khanh Hoi: 149-151-153 Khanh Hoi, Vinh Hoi Ward; Monday to Friday 7:30-17:00, Saturday and Sunday 7:00-17:00.
• VNVC Quan 1: Floor 2, NOWZONE, 235 Nguyen Van Cu, Cau Ong Lanh Ward; every day 7:30-17:00.
• VNVC Dien Bien Phu: 111 Dien Bien Phu, Gia Dinh Ward.

Good for

• Rabies courses with both intramuscular and intradermal prices.
• Travel vaccines such as yellow fever and Japanese encephalitis.
• Free reservation at the retail price, valid for vaccination within 35 days.

Skip if

• You want a vaccine marked with an asterisk without checking: ring the hotline for availability at your centre.
• You need a visit after 17:00: VNVC centres close at 17:00.

Long Chau Vaccination Centre — later hours, a list in Vietnamese

Long Chau’s service vaccine price list is dated 14/08/2026. Prices are for reference and may change; for stock, call hotline 1800 6928. Centres open 7:30-18:30 daily, varying by centre. The call centre is open 8:00-22:00.

Good for

• Rabies at Abhayrab 0.5ml VND 390,000 and Indirab 244,000.
• Dengue, hepatitis A and B, typhoid and flu, each on the list.
• Evening visits: hours run to 18:30.

Skip if

• You need the same hours at each centre: hours vary by centre.

Ring first. VNVC: 028 7102 6595 for asterisked vaccines. Long Chau: 1800 6928 for stock. VNVC offers free reservation at the retail price, valid for vaccination within 35 days.

Not confirmed: Rabies immunoglobulin, needed for a Category III bite, has no published price on VNVC or Long Chau. The Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City stocks it; get the fee at the counter. Long Chau's city centre addresses appear only by location on its site; call 1800 6928 for the nearest one.
