Kindergartens in Ho Chi Minh City: Six Preschools Compared

Global Star School charges VND 6,000,000 to VND 9,500,000 a month in tuition, depending on age and campus. Private preschools on the Ministry curriculum cost VND 6 million to VND 8 million a month. International ones cost VND 165 million to VND 358 million a year. Public preschools charge no tuition.

Kinderland Vista Verde — Singapore brand, five age programmes

Kinderland follows both the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum and the Vietnam MOET curriculum. Programmes run from Pre Nursery 1 at 18-24 months to Kindergarten 2 at 5-6 years.

Good for

• Families who want one school from 18 months to age 6.
• Parents who want to see the classroom first: Kinderland offers 2 free trial days.

Skip if

• You want a tuition figure before calling: Kinderland sends families to its admission officer.
• You lack notarised copies of the child’s birth certificate or passport, which enrolment asks for.

Kindy City — named classes by age, several campuses

Kindy City is a safe, friendly place for children aged 2 to 5 that respects each child’s differences. Its classes are Koala (18-36 months), Panda (3 years), Dolphin (4 years) and Giraffe (5 years).

Good for

• Parents who want a named class for each age from 18 months to 5 years.
• Parents who want a choice of campus: one campus is at 16 Vo Truong Toan and another at 25-27 Street 6.

Skip if

• Your child turns 6 soon: Kindy City takes children aged 2 to 5.
• You want tuition upfront: Kindy City publishes no fee in its text, so get a written sheet from the campus.

Wisdomland Binh Thanh — IB-inspired, with a big playground

Wisdomland’s programme is inspired by the International Baccalaureate (IB) and combined with the Reggio Emilia approach, a child-led, project-based style. The playground is more than 1000 m2.

Good for

• Parents who want sport in the day: swimming, karate and aerobics.
• Parents who want a menu advised by nutrition staff from the Department of Nutrition and Food of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Skip if

• You want a school outside Binh Quoi Ward, where this campus sits.
• You need fees before a visit: Wisdomland is taking 2026-2027 enrolment, so request its fee sheet first.

Global Star School An Phu Thao Dien — bilingual franchise network

Global Star is a bilingual preschool network of international standard, with campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces under franchise. It takes children from 6 months to 6 years. Tuition runs from VND 6,000,000 to VND 9,500,000 a month.

Good for

• Families who want to test a school first: the tour and one trial lesson are free.
• Families who want a published fee range.
• Families who want a chain with campuses in several places.

Skip if

• You want a single owner-run school: some Global Star campuses are franchises.
• You want a fixed price list: the fee depends on age and campus, so ask on 1900.1858.

The Thao Dien campus is at 1 Street 43, Binh Trung Ward. Call it on +84 28 2266 2288 before you go: the school’s own campus list names four campuses, all in former District 12. The network line is 028.6688.6969, Monday to Saturday, and the 24/7 hotline is 1900.1858.

To enrol, register at the school, on the website or on the hotline, then tour and talk to an admissions officer. Bring a copy of the birth certificate, the vaccination book and two 3x4 photos. The reservation fee is about VND 2 million and comes off the first month’s tuition.

Saigon Academy — early education by developmental area

Saigon Academy was founded in 2012. Its early-education programme covers 8 developmental areas built on 56 development indicators.

Good for

• Parents who want a school with a longer record: it dates from 2012.
• Parents who want a programme set out by area of development.

Skip if

• You want the Thu Duc address: its campus is 3 Tran Quy Cap, Binh Thanh Ward.

Class-size caps

A private preschool is one set up by domestic or foreign investors who guarantee the operating conditions. The preschool charter took effect on 31 March 2021. A circular of 30 June 2026 amended it from 15 August 2026, and the July 2026 consolidated text keeps the caps below.

Children from 3 to 36 months are organised into nursery groups. Children from 3 to 6 years are organised into kindergarten classes.

A group or class below 50% of the cap may be merged into a combined group of at most 20 children or a combined class of at most 30. Each group or class takes no more than 2 children with disabilities in inclusive learning. Preschools implement the preschool education programme issued by the Minister of Education and Training.

Many non-public preschools have published fee schedules on their sites since the start of the 2026-27 school year. Get the current one in writing before you pay a deposit.

Before you visit

• Book the trial: Kinderland offers 2 free trial days and Global Star School a free tour and trial lesson.
• Bring notarised copies of the birth certificate or passport and immunization records, as Kinderland asks.
• Check the class size: the charter allows 25 children aged 3-4.
• Confirm the campus: Kindy City has two; Saigon Academy is at Tran Quy Cap.
• Enrol early: Wisdomland is taking 2026-2027 enrolment now.
